A simple concrete pathway down the side of the house and extending past a deck in the backyard. Total distance is 77 feet, width of the pathway is 3 feet. A point of contention was with an extra yard of soil piled at the side of the house. This was done by the homeowner as a dry well was installed under the walkway. The soil was discussed with the original contractor. Valeira was sub-contracted. Although this soil (engineered soil of clay and stone) was levelled for the pathway, the company was unsure that it would make an adequate base. They wanted an additional $250 cash to remove the soil. The company came one week late due to poor weather. The workers seem well informed about what needs to be done to make a quality product. Price seemed reasonable when originally quoted. Adding additional costs after a contract is signed seems to be misleading in my opinion. The pathway took half a day to complete. Overall, I'm happy with their work -- just a bit annoyed having to pay extra after the contract was signed and annoyed that payment could be made in cash or added to the final bill (to be taxed).
